Benidorm Palace 2010 ‘De Luxe’ Show

THE SHOW opens and the audience is immediately transported to a Plaza de Torros, complete with Torreadors and all the pomp and ceremony synonymous with Spanish culture. The opening music is in the famous Spanish paso doblé style, but a huge repertoire of musical styles soon emerge seamlessly, varying from Classical and Flamenco to more contemporary sounds.

The tableau ends with ladies in glamorous white Spanish gowns, performing the famous paso doblé, Espana Cañi.

THIS IS IT!
The deLuxe company pays a glamorous tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson and his frequent co-performer, Janet Jackson.

EAST MEETS WEST
The deLuxe company performs a Celtic fusion of eastern and western rhythms. Intricate footwork, accelerating rhythms and Irish tap forms an exciting mix of dance styles.

BOLERO
Ravel’s famous work was written as a ballet, the first performance on November 22nd 1928, at the Paris Opera. Since the first public performance, Ravel´s Bolero has inspired many choreographers, dancers and musicians. The bolero originated in Spain in the late 18th Century, a combination of the Contradanza and Sevillana.

BOOGIE WONDERLAND
Dressed to kill with Afro hair, platform shoes, bell-bottoms and lots of sparkle, the cast takes the audience on an exciting trip down memory lane to Boogie Wonderland with ‘It´s Raining Men’, ‘Daddy Cool’, ‘Mama Mia’ and all the dance moves and glamour of the 80’s era.

SABOR FLAMENCA
A fine blend of sounds is used for this light-hearted, humorous look at pure flamenco dancing – eight minutes of deLuxe Flamenco fun.
The composer Manolo Carrasco and the group Ojos de Bruja created flamenco music that is richly infused with contemporary Jazz flavours. The lyrics of the Stevie Wonder song, ‘Isn’t She Lovely?’ inspired the finale of De Luxe.

Each segment showcases a contemporary diva of popular music, illustrating how songs and performers have become inseparable from their glamorous images, fads and fashion.

At the opening, intermission and ending of the show, New Bamboo, the Benidorm Palace resident orchestra, accompanied by the talented Amy, kept the audience entertained. The Cabaret performers between the dance sets were amazing!
The Menu Gran Palace Plus at €55 is a delight… the chef might have been preparing dishes for the most expensive five or six star hotel in any capital city or resort, at four times the price.

For an evening out with exceptional food and entertainment, you cannot better the outstanding Benidorm Palace.
